Purpose/Objective

To lead and manage all mining operations in compliance with statutory regulations, ensuring safe, productive, and cost-effective production of ore while maintaining environmental standards and achieving mine production targets.

Key Responsibilities of Role

- Ensure achievement of ore production and quality targets.
- Monitor drilling, blasting, excavation, loading, hauling, and dumping operations.
- Optimize mine productivity through effective utilization of manpower and equipment.
- Ensure adherence to mine plans and production schedules.
Safety & Statutory Compliance - Ensure compliance with the Mines Act, MMR, DGMS regulations, and other statutory requirements.
- Maintain a zero-harm safety culture across mining operations.
- Conduct safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments.
- Investigate accidents/incidents and implement corrective actions.
- Ensure valid statutory permissions, records, and documentation.
Mine Planning & Development - Coordinate with geology and survey teams for mine planning and ore extraction.
- Monitor mine development activities and pit progression.
- Review short-term and long-term mine plans.




- Ensure optimum recovery of mineral reserves.
Team Management - Lead and mentor mining engineers, supervisors, foremen, and operators.
- Conduct performance reviews and skill development programs.
- Ensure adequate manpower deployment and workforce productivity.
Equipment & Resource Management - Monitor equipment availability and utilization.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for preventive and breakdown maintenance.
- Control mining costs and improve operational efficiency.
Environment Management - Ensure compliance with environmental clearance conditions.
- Monitor waste management, dust suppression, reclamation, and afforestation activities.
- Support sustainability initiatives and mine closure planning.
Coordination & Reporting - Coordinate with statutory authorities and regulatory bodies.
- Prepare production, safety, and management reports.
- Support audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.

Qualifications and Experience

Educational Qualification: Diploma / B.
Tech in Mining Engineering.
First Class Manager's Certificate of Competency (Metal Mines) issued by DGMS.
Experience: 10–12 years of experience in metal mining operations.
