About the role:

We are seeking a Senior Frontend Engineer with 6+ years of experience to join our Bangalore team. You will own the frontend architecture, building fast, accessible, and visually polished applications with React and Next.js. You will collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to take features from conception to production, craft seamless user experiences including real-time interactions and AI-powered interfaces, and set the technical direction for our frontend platform. You will champion the effective use of AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to ship high-quality code faster. An understanding of backend services and APIs is valued so you can integrate effectively, but your primary focus will be delivering exceptional frontend experiences. This role requires someone who has owned complex UI features end-to-end and can be productive from day one.

What youll be doing

- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to design, develop, and deploy high-quality frontend applications
- Own and drive the technical direction for our React/Next.js applications, making key decisions on architecture, patterns, and tooling
- Partner with Design to ship pixel-perfect, accessible UI and maintain a high visual and interaction quality bar
- Build and maintain reusable component libraries and contribute to a shared design system across products
- Implement complex, interactive UI: streaming AI responses, chat interfaces, live dashboards, and agent UIs using WebSockets/SSE
- Integrate with backend REST and streaming APIs, collaborating with backend engineers on API contract design
- Implement secure frontend auth flows: JWT handling, token refresh, protected routes,



and XSS/CSRF/CORS/CSP mitigations
- Optimise frontend performance: code splitting, lazy loading, caching strategies, Core Web Vitals, and rendering optimisation
- Write clean, well-documented, and thoroughly tested code (unit, integration, and e2e) to ensure robustness and scalability
- Actively participate in code reviews and raise the technical bar across the team
- Champion AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) and build workflows that fast-track frontend development
- Mentor frontend engineers and own quality end-to-end: testing, error tracking (Sentry), analytics, and feature flags

What were looking for

- Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 6+ years building production frontend applications, ideally at a startup or product company
- Deep expertise in React and modern patterns: hooks, context, performance optimization, concurrent features, and the rendering model
- Strong Next.js experience: App Router, server components, SSR/SSG/ISR, middleware, and routing patterns
- TypeScript proficiency with strong typing discipline across large codebases
- Strong CSS skills: modern layout (Grid, Flexbox), Tailwind (or CSS-in-JS), responsive design, and accessibility (WCAG)
- Proven track record of shipping pixel-perfect UI in close partnership with designers
- WebSockets/SSE experience: connection lifecycle, reconnection strategies, and streaming data rendering in React
- JWT-based frontend auth: access/refresh tokens, secure storage tradeoffs, silent refresh,



and browser security (XSS, CSRF, CORS, CSP)
- Strong understanding of frontend testing: unit (Jest/Vitest), component (React Testing Library), and e2e (Playwright/Cypress)
- Firm grasp of computer science fundamentals: data structures, algorithms, complexity analysis, and object-oriented design
- Software engineering best practices: version control (Git), CI/CD, and code review culture
- Hands-on experience using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) in real production workflows
- Strong communication, collaboration, and product sense, with proven leadership in mentoring engineers

Good to have

- Working understanding of backend development with Python and FastAPI (REST endpoints, async patterns, Pydantic models)
- Familiarity with database concepts: SQL, PostgreSQL schema design, and how frontend decisions impact query performance
- Ability to read and reason about backend code to debug integration issues and collaborate effectively with backend engineers
- Exposure to API design principles: REST conventions, pagination, error handling, and data modelling across services
- Hands-on experience deploying frontend applications on AWS (CloudFront + S3, Amplify, or ECS-based setups)
- Experience building and maintaining a design system used across multiple products
- Familiarity with event-driven patterns and how they surface in frontend (real-time updates, optimistic UI, eventual consistency)
- Deeper auth experience: OAuth2/OIDC flows, refresh token rotation, session hardening
- Open-source contributions, technical writing, or conference talks
