The Role:

We are looking for a Lead Software Engineer who is equally comfortable writing production code and steering a team. You will own the end-to-end delivery of the FastOne CRM platform built on a polyglot backend stack of Java and Node.js from designing event-driven microservices to orchestrating the infrastructure rollout for every new trading entity we launch. You will be the primary technical escalation point for enhancements, incidents, and client-impacting issues, while coaching the engineers around you to operate at a higher level.

This is a hands-on lead role, not a people-manager role. You will spend significant time in the codebase, in architecture sessions, and in production incidents, while also running sprint planning, conducting code reviews, and working closely with the CTO on the platform roadmap.

Core Responsibilities

- Own design, development, and delivery of platform features across Java and Node.js services; lead architectural reviews, set coding standards, and enforce them through rigorous peer review.
- Own end-to-end rollout of new trading entities, provisioning dedicated Kubernetes PODs (Point of delivery) per trading entities, configuring namespace isolation, maintaining Helm charts and IaC templates, and validating platform readiness before go-live.
- Coordinate environment provisioning, manage release gates and rollback procedures, and ensure all deployments meet jurisdiction-specific regulatory and data-residency requirements.
- Design and maintain high-throughput message queue-based data pipelines for real-time trade event processing, MT4/MT5 volume consolidation, IB commission calculations, and tier evaluation.
- Build and optimise workflow orchestration for long-running brokerage processes such as KYC, account upgrades, and payment flows, ensuring idempotent, failure-resilient execution.
- Lead best practices for Dockerized service deployment, HPA, CI/CD pipelines,



and blue-green/canary release strategies; define and monitor SLOs and drive blameless post-mortems.
- Triage and resolve production incidents within SLA; translate requirements from Product, Dealing Desk, and Compliance into delivery plans; maintain OpenAPI specs, runbooks and support playbooks.
- Lead a squad of 5 8 engineers, run sprint planning, code reviews, and 1-on-1s; mentor junior and mid-level developers and partner with the stakeholders on hiring, team structure, and roadmap planning.

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 7 + years of qualified software engineering experience, with strong hands-on depth in both Java and Node.js backend development.
- 3 + years in a tech-lead or engineering-lead capacity - hands-on, not purely managerial.
- Prior experience in Fintech, Forex, capital markets, or brokerage platforms is a significant advantage.
- Core Technical Skills

- Expert-level proficiency in Java (17+) with Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Spring Data; deep understanding of JVM performance tuning and concurrency.
- Strong proficiency in Node.js (18+) with TypeScript; experience building high-performance asynchronous services using NestJS or Express; understanding of the event loop, streaming, and non-blocking I/O patterns.
- Proven experience designing and building RESTful and event-driven microservices across both Java and Node.js stacks, with well-defined API contracts and clean service boundaries.
- Strong hands-on expertise with ActiveMQ for event streaming, message queue design, partitioning strategy, consumer group management,



and exactly-once semantics.
- Experience with workflow orchestration engines for managing long-running, stateful brokerage business processes.
- Proficiency in relational databases (PostgreSQL) including schema design, query optimisation, indexing, and multi-tenant Row-Level Security; working knowledge of NoSQL databases (MongoDB / Cassandra) and in-memory stores (Redis).
- Solid command of Docker and Kubernetes: writing Dockerfiles, Helm charts, configuring Services / Ingress / ConfigMaps / Secrets, and troubleshooting pod-level issues in production clusters.
- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform AWS, including managed Kubernetes (EKS), cloud storage, managed databases, and secret management.
- Domain & Soft Skills

- Demonstrated ability to lead technical delivery end-to-end from requirements to production on complex, multi-service projects with clear communication throughout.
- Experience managing infrastructure rollouts for new clients, products, or geographies, including environment provisioning, configuration management, and go-live validation.
- Strong debugging, root-cause analysis, and incident management skills; comfortable operating under pressure in a live financial environment.
- Ability to balance technical rigour with pragmatic delivery; knows when to move fast and when to slow down and do it right.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; able to translate technical complexity for non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to Have

- Hands-on experience with MT4 / MT5 Manager API, Dealing Desk API, or the Meta Quotes gateway stack.
- Experience with observability tooling: distributed tracing (Jaeger / Zipkin), centralized logging (ELK / Loki).
- Exposure to GraphQL APIs or API gateway patterns (NGINX, or AWS API Gateway).
- Certifications in Kubernetes (CKA / CKAD) or cloud platforms (GCP Professional / AWS Solutions Architect).
