Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and data-driven Distribution Planner to translate demand signals into effective replenishment and distribution plans. This role plays a critical part in ensuring optimal product availability across the downstream network, while balancing service levels, inventory efficiency, and logistics performance.

Incumbent will work closely with Demand Planning, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Sales teams to drive seamless execution across the supply chain.

Key Responsibilities

Planning & Replenishment

- Convert demand forecasts into actionable distribution plans and stock transfer orders (STOs)
- Manage safety stock, reorder points, and replenishment cycles
- Optimize stock positioning across warehouses, DCs, and customer nodes

Inventory Management

- Monitor inventory health including excess, slow-moving, shortages, and obsolescence risks
- Drive actions to minimize stock-outs and reduce excess inventory
- Optimize inventory across the distribution network to balance stock availability, reduce excess, and prevent shortages.

Execution & Coordination

- Align with manufacturing plans to meet downstream demand
- Collaborate with logistics, warehousing, and customer service teams for timely deliveries
- Manage allocation and prioritization during supply constraints

Performance & Analytics





- Track key KPIs such as OTIF, inventory turns, Days of Supply (DOS), and forecast adherence
- Identify gaps and improvement opportunities in planning and execution
- Deliver MIS reports and insights for leadership reviews

Systems & Continuous Improvement

- Work with ERP/APS tools such as SAP/D365 etc.
- Drive process improvements, automation, and planning accuracy
- Contribute to S&OP; / IBP cycles with supply and inventory insights

What Were Looking For

- Solid experience in distribution, replenishment, or downstream planning
- Deep understanding of supply chain networks and inventory dynamics
- Hands-on experience with ERP/planning systems
- Advanced Excel and analytical capabilities (Power BI is a plus)
- Ability to handle complexity and make data-driven decisions
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

Qualifications & Experience

- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations, or related field
- MBA/Postgraduate qualification in Operations/Supply Chain (preferred)
- 5-10 years of experience in distribution/replenishment planning
- Industry exposure in FMCG, manufacturing, pharma, electronics, or large distribution setups is preferred
