Job Description: A Purchase Officer in a steel manufacturing company manages the end-to-end procurement of raw materials (such as iron ore, coal, and scrap), machinery spares, and industrial consumables. - Strategic Sourcing: Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers for core materials and consumables.
- Negotiation: Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules to ensure cost-efficiency and budget compliance.
- Procurement Operations: Raise, manage, and track Purchase Orders (POs) through internal ERP systems, ensuring adherence to technical specifications and quality standards.
- Inventory Control: Monitor raw material stock levels to prevent stockouts or over-ordering in coordination with production and warehouse teams.
- Cost & Market Analysis:



Track market trends for metal and raw materials to identify alternative sourcing opportunities and optimize costs.
- Internal Coordination: Collaborate closely with Production, Logistics, Quality Assurance, and Finance teams to verify invoices and align purchases with operational requirements. [1, 2, 3, 4]

Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Commerce, or Business Administration. An MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Materials Management is highly preferred.
- Experience: Proven track record in metal, sponge iron, steel billet, or heavy manufacturing industries.
