Job Description: A Mechanical Shift Incharge in a steel manufacturing plant (SID/DRI/SMS) supervises mechanical maintenance and operations during their shift, ensuring maximum equipment uptime and adherence to safety/production targets. Key duties include troubleshooting machinery, conducting preventive maintenance, managing technicians, and coordinating with production teams. Key Responsibilities:

- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy mechanical equipment (cranes, furnaces, casting machines, conveyors) to minimize downtime.
- Production Oversight: Monitor operational parameters, ensure smooth production flow, and meet shift output targets.
- Safety & Compliance: Enforce strict safety (HSE) protocols, LOTO, and 5S standards on the shop floor.
- Team Leadership: Supervise, train, and allocate tasks to technicians,



fitters, and helpers.
- Reporting: Maintain accurate shift logs, maintenance records, and proper handover to the next shift.

Qualifications & Skills:

- Education: Diploma or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.
- Experience: 5+ years in mechanical maintenance, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role within a SID/DRI/SMS plant.
- Skills: Solid troubleshooting abilities, knowledge of hydraulic/pneumatic systems, leadership, and proactive safety awareness.
