ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking an experienced Legacy Systems Migration Specialist to spearhead the modernization and migration of a core AS400 (IBM i) environment to a up-to-date, cloud-native platform. This role bridges the gap between legacy business logic and modern cloud architecture, ensuring a seamless data and application transition without business disruption.

REQUIRED SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

Mindset: Analytical, detail-oriented, and capable of reverse-engineering undocumented legacy code.

Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with U.S.-based stakeholders and proactively manage risks, blockers, and dependencies.

Legacy Expertise: Strong background in IBM i (AS400) architectures, RPG (III/IV, Open Access, Free-form), COBOL, CL, and DB2/400.





Modernization Experience: Proven track record of migrating AS400 workloads to public cloud environments (Azure preferred).

Data Migration Tools: Experience with ETL/ELT tools, change data capture (CDC) software, and up-to-date data platforms.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

System Analysis: Audit existing AS400 applications, DB2 databases, CL programs, and RPG/COBOL codebase to mapout dependencies and business rules.

Migration Execution: Design and execute data migration strategies from DB2/400 to modern cloud data stores (e.g., Azure SQL, Databricks).

Integration & Testing: Develop APIs and middleware to handle coexistence scenarios where legacy and contemporary systems must run in parallel during phased rollouts.

Validation: Ensure strict data integrity, schema mapping, and performance tuning post-migration
