Mechanical Maintenance Requirements

Qualification
ITI (Fitter/Mechanical) or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
2–5 years of experience in Water Treatment Plants (WTP), Effluent Treatment Plants (ETP), Sewage Treatment Plants (STP), or similar process industries.
Basic knowledge of pumps, blowers, valves, pipelines, and rotating equipment.

Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of pumps, blowers, agitators, gearboxes, compressors, and motors.
Inspect, repair, and replace pipelines, valves, flanges, fittings, bearings, mechanical seals, gaskets, couplings, and lubricants.
Carry out equipment alignment, belt tensioning, vibration analysis, and routine inspections.
Monitor equipment performance and identify abnormal noise, vibration, overheating, or leakage.
Assist in the installation, commissioning, and troubleshooting of recent mechanical equipment.
Maintain maintenance records, checklists, equipment history cards, and spare parts inventory.
Ensure compliance with safety procedures,



including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE usage, and housekeeping.
Coordinate with operations and electrical teams to minimize equipment downtime.

Required Skills
Maintenance of centrifugal pumps, dosing pumps, blowers, agitators, and compressors.
Pipe fitting, fabrication, and mechanical assembly.
Welding and gas cutting (preferred).
Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, cutting machines, and precision measuring instruments.
Ability to read mechanical drawings and P&ID; diagrams.
Basic troubleshooting and root cause analysis (RCA).

Preferred Experience
Maintenance of WTP, ETP, STP, RO, UF, MEE, and ATFD systems.
Experience with DAF, clarifiers, pressure sand filters (PSF), activated carbon filters (ACF), screw presses, chemical dosing systems, air blowers, and air compressors.
Familiarity with preventive maintenance planning and spare parts management.
