Senior Test Automation Engineer

Location: Hyderabad

Job Description Responsibilities

Manual Testing (Primary)
Analyse business, functional, and technical requirements and identify test scope
Design, review, and execute test scenarios and detailed test cases
Perform functional, regression, integration, system, sanity, smoke, and UAT testing
Identify, log, track, and retest defects using tools like JIRA / Azure DevOps
Participate in requirement discussions, sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and defect triage
Validate data using basic SQL queries as required
Ensure adherence to defined QA processes and quality standards
Provide test status reports, defect metrics, and quality sign-offs
Coordinate closely with Dev, Product, and Business teams

Automation Testing
Ability to understand and execute existing automation scripts
Identify manual regression test cases suitable for automation
Basic experience or exposure to test automation tools such as:
Selenium / Playwright/Appium




Working knowledge of any scripting/programming language:
Java / TypeScript
Exposure to API testing using tools like Postman
Will ingness to upskill and contribute more to automation over time

Qualifications
Solid understanding of STLC, SDLC, defect life cycle
Excellent hands-on experience in manual testing
Experience testing Web applications (Mobile is a plus)
Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies
Experience working with test management and defect tracking tools
Solid analytical and communication skills
Automation testing exposure
CI/CD awareness (Jenkins, Git, etc.)
Domain experience (Banking, Healthcare, Insurance, E-commerce, etc.)
Attention to detail and quality mindset
Proactive and ownership-driven approach
Ability to mentor junior QA members
Strong collaboration and communication skills
Positive Exposure on AI tools experience (co-pilot, cursor etc.)
