JD of Maintenance Technician of Kiln (Ceramic & Carbon Candle)

Key Responsibilities
Operate, inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot tunnel, shuttle, batch, or electric kilns used for ceramic candle firing.
Monitor kiln temperature profiles, firing cycles, heating and cooling rates to ensure consistent product quality.
Maintain and repair kiln burners, combustion systems, thermocouples, PLCs, temperature recorders, flame monitoring systems, and safety interlocks.
Repair and replace refractory linings, kiln insulation, kiln cars, rollers, seals, and related kiln components.
Optimize kiln fuel consumption, combustion efficiency, and firing cycle performance.
Investigate firing defects such as cracks, warpage, black cores, pinholes, glazing defects, under-fired, and over-fired ceramic candles.
Coordinate kiln shutdowns, annual overhauls, refractory repairs, and preventive maintenance activities.
Maintain and troubleshoot mixers, kneaders, blenders, extruders, hydraulic presses,



vacuum systems, carbon moulding machines, cutting machines, drying ovens, curing ovens, and finishing equipment.
Maintain activated carbon processing equipment including feeders, conveyors, sieves, dust collection systems, and material handling equipment.
Ensure proper functioning of vacuum pumps, compressors, hydraulic systems, pneumatic systems, and utility equipment used in carbon candle production.

Required skills & Qualifications
ITI / Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
510 years of hands-on maintenance experience in ceramic and activated carbon candle manufacturing or related ceramic/process industries.
Experience in maintaining ceramic firing kilns & carbon candle production machinery
