Role & responsibilities

As Team Lead US Payroll, you will lead payroll operations, ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing while managing teams and driving process excellence.

The Payroll Tax Manager is responsible for overseeing the accurate and timely processing, reporting, and compliance of all payroll taxes across multi-state operations in the United States and Canada. This role ensures adherence to federal, state, and local regulations while leading a team and driving process improvements.

Payroll Tax Compliance & Filing
Ensure timely and accurate filing of all federal, state, and local payroll tax returns
Manage tax deposits and ensure compliance with all regulatory deadlines
Oversee quarterly and annual filings including Forms 941, 940, W-2, and amendments

Handle multi-state tax compliance including complex jurisdictions

Key Responsibilities:




Operational Leadership
Manage payroll team (1020 members)
Monitor SLA, KPI, and quality metrics
Conduct performance reviews and coaching
Payroll Governance
Ensure compliance with payroll regulations
Maintain internal controls and audit readiness
Manage risk and compliance issues
Systems Integration & Data Integrity
Oversee WorkdayADP integrations
Ensure accurate data flow between systems
Resolve system discrepancies

Preferred candidate profile
8+ years of US Payroll Tax experience
5+ years of team management experience
Robust knowledge of US payroll tax laws
Experience with payroll systems (ADP, Workday, etc.)
Robust analytical and communication skills
