An EIA (Environmental Impact Assessment) Coordinator in the water treatment industry leads multidisciplinary teams to evaluate, manage, and mitigate the environmental footprint of large-scale water and wastewater projects. Project Management & Coordination: Lead end-to-end EIA studies, coordinate multidisciplinary expert teams (like hydrologists and socio-economists), and manage baseline data collection for water, air, and soil quality. [1, 2, 3]
Regulatory Compliance & Clearances: Draft Terms of Reference (ToR) and spearhead the preparation of EIA/EMP (Environmental Management Plan) reports. Represent projects before regulatory bodies such as the MoEF&CC;,
State Pollution Control Boards (SPCBs), and Expert Appraisal Committees (EAC/SEAC) to secure Environmental Clearances. [1, 2]
Impact Prediction & Mitigation: Analyze how proposed water or wastewater treatment plants (STP/ETP/CETP) will alter the local ecosystem. Formulate strategies to manage brine discharge, sludge disposal, and odor control. [1, 2, 3]
Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate public hearings and community consultations to address concerns regarding water usage, discharge limits, and local ecology.
