Role & responsibilities
Mechanical design of underwater vehicle systems (ROV/UUV), including structural, hydrodynamic, and subsystem integration considerations, applying mechanical and manufacturing principles
Perform structural analysis and validation of components and assemblies, considering pressure, fatigue, and long-duration deployment conditions
Carry out requirement analysis and feasibility of designs based on simulation (analytical and numerical), rapid prototyping, FMEA and testing.
Assures product and process quality by designing testing methods, testing finished product and process capabilities.
Support rapid prototyping and iterative development with hands-on involvement in fabrication, assembly, and field validation
Conduct market surveys wherever required.
Drive design improvements of existing systems based on field feedback, performance data,
and failure analysis
Maintain explicit technical documentation, including design rationale, test reports, and engineering change records
Mechanical design of underwater systems with focus on robust sealing solutions for extended underwater deployment
Work closely with electrical, controls, and software teams to ensure seamless integration within overall vehicle architecture
Consider hydrodynamic effects and fluid interaction while designing external structures and assemblies
Qualifications :
B.E./ B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or an Engineering Degree in a related field
