Conduct comprehensive eye examinations to assess visual acuity, refractive errors, binocular vision, and overall eye health.
Perform refraction and prescribe appropriate spectacles and contact lenses.
Assist ophthalmologists in diagnosing and managing various eye conditions.
Perform pre-operative assessments and post-operative evaluations for cataract, LASIK, and other ophthalmic procedures.
Operate and maintain ophthalmic diagnostic equipment such as Auto Refractometer, Lensometer, Keratometer, OCT, Perimeter, Fundus Camera, and NCT.
Conduct specialized diagnostic tests including visual field analysis, OCT, A-scan, B-scan, pachymetry, topography, and biometry as required.
Educate patients on eye care, spectacle usage, contact lens handling, and preventive eye health practices.
Identify ocular abnormalities and promptly refer patients to the ophthalmologist for further evaluation and treatment.
Maintain accurate patient records, examination findings,



and clinical documentation in the hospital information system.
Ensure proper calibration, maintenance, and cleanliness of ophthalmic instruments.
Follow infection control protocols and maintain patient safety standards.
Coordinate effectively with ophthalmologists, nursing staff, optical team, and other departments to ensure seamless patient care.
Counsel patients regarding available vision correction options and recommended treatment plans.
Participate in vision screening camps, community outreach programs, and corporate eye screening initiatives whenever required.
Stay updated with advancements in optometry practices, diagnostic techniques, and ophthalmic technologies.
Adhere to hospital policies, ethical standards, NABH protocols, and quality guidelines.Role & responsibilities
