Snowflake Performance Engineer Job Description

Experience: 8 to 12 years

Key Responsibilities
Drive performance engineering initiatives including query tuning, workload optimization, and productive resource utilization.
Design and implement scalable data models and ELT pipelines using Snowflake SQL and industry-standard data warehousing practices.
Develop complex stored procedures and performance-optimized data processing logic within Snowflake.
Define and implement Snowflake best practices across virtual warehouse sizing, workload isolation, and cost-performance optimization.
Configure and manage Snowflake advanced features such as resource monitors, RBAC, zero-copy cloning, and time travel.
Implement and enforce data security, governance, and access control frameworks aligned with enterprise standards.

Required Skills & Expertise
Robust expertise in Snowflake architecture, performance tuning,



and advanced optimization techniques.
Deep understanding of virtual warehouse management, concurrency scaling, and query performance diagnostics.
Proficiency in ELT design using Snowflake SQL and experience with metadata-driven frameworks.
Robust knowledge of data modeling (dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas) and DWH concepts.
Strong knowledge of data security models, including RBAC, data masking, and access governance.

Nice to Have
Exposure to Lakehouse architectures and hybrid data platform patterns.
Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and automation frameworks in cloud settings.
Experience in enterprise data governance, compliance, and audit frameworks.
