SAP TM Functional Consultant Job Description

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP TM Functional Consultant to design, configure, and implement SAP Transportation Management solutions. The candidate will work closely with business stakeholders to optimize logistics and transportation processes.

Key Responsibilities
Gather and analyze business requirements related to transportation and logistics.
Configure and implement SAP TM (Transportation Management) solutions.
Design end-to-end logistics processes including:
Freight order management
Transportation planning & optimization
Carrier selection & tendering
Freight costing & settlement
Integrate SAP TM with other SAP modules such as:
SAP EWM (Extended Warehouse Management)
SAP SD (Sales & Distribution)
SAP MM (Materials Management)
Perform system configuration, testing (unit, integration, UAT), and deployment.
Support data migration and system upgrades.
Provide business support and troubleshooting for TM-related issues.
Prepare functional specifications for custom developments (RICEF objects).




Conduct user training and create documentation.
Collaborate with technical teams (ABAP, Basis, integration teams).

Required Skills & Qualifications
Bachelors degree in Engineering, IT, Supply Chain, or related field.
6+ years of experience in SAP TM implementation/support.
Solid understanding of logistics and transportation processes.
Hands-on experience with:
Freight Unit, Freight Order, Freight Booking
Transportation Planning
Charge Calculation & Settlement
Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA TM (embedded or standalone).
Experience in integration with SAP ECC/S4 and EWM.
Basic understanding of ABAP/debugging is a plus.
Familiarity with APIs, IDocs, and integration tools is desirable.

Preferred Skills
Experience in full lifecycle SAP TM implementations.
Knowledge of:
Fiori Apps
SAP Event Management
SAP Global Trade Services (GTS)
Robust analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
