Role & responsibilities
Product Design & Development
Design and develop Polymer and Porcelain Surge Arresters for MV, HV, and EHV applications.
Perform electrical, mechanical, thermal, and insulation coordination calculations.
Select and optimize MOV blocks, internal components, housing materials, grading rings, terminals, and sealing systems.
Prepare and review GA drawings, assembly drawings, BOMs, and technical specifications.
Develop current products and customize existing designs to meet customer requirements.
Standards & Compliance
Ensure compliance with IEC 60099-4, IS 3070, and related standards.
Support technical approvals and customer qualification processes.
Testing & Validation
Plan, coordinate, and execute routine, acceptance, special, and type tests.
Prepare test samples, test arrangements, and documentation.
Coordinate with accredited laboratories such as CPRI, ERDA, KEMA, and CESI.
Analyze test results and implement design improvements.
Test Setup & Laboratory Support
Develop and review test setups for routine and type testing.
Guide manufacturing and quality teams in sample preparation and test execution.
Conduct failure analysis and corrective actions.
Technical Documentation
Prepare design calculations, technical reports, validation reports, and engineering documentation.
Support technical submissions, customer approvals, and tender documentation.
Preferred candidate profile
Education
B.E./B.Tech in Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
M.Tech in High Voltage Engineering will be an added advantage.
Experience
5 - 15 years of relevant experience in Polymer and/or Porcelain Surge Arrester design.
Proven experience in MV, HV, and EHV surge arrester product design and testing.
