Job Title: ER Technician

Department: Emergency Medicine

Location: SMV Super Speciality Hospital, Puducherry

Reports To: ER Medical Officer / Nursing Superintendent

Job Summary:

The ER Technician provides critical support to the emergency medical team by assisting in patient assessment, stabilization, and treatment procedures, ensuring quick and productive response during emergencies.

Key Responsibilities:
Assist doctors and nurses during emergency procedures, examinations, and resuscitation (CPR)
Prepare and maintain emergency equipment, trolleys, and supplies for immediate use
Take and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, SpO2) of incoming patients
Assist in wound dressing, splinting, suturing support, and minor procedures
Operate and monitor equipment such as ECG, defibrillator, nebulizer, and oxygen delivery systems
Assist in shifting and positioning patients safely, including stretcher and wheelchair transfers
Maintain cleanliness, sterilization, and readiness of the ER at all times
Ensure proper documentation of patient details, treatment given, and handover notes




Coordinate with lab, radiology, and other departments for urgent tests and reports
Respond promptly to emergency codes and support the medical team during critical situations
Follow infection control protocols and biomedical waste management procedures

Qualifications:
Diploma / Certificate in Emergency Medical Technology (EMT) or equivalent paramedical course
BLS/ACLS certification preferred

Experience:
Minimum 1 year of experience in an Emergency Room / Casualty setting

Skills Required:
Ability to work calmly and efficiently under pressure
Quick decision-making and hands-on clinical skills
Good teamwork and communication with doctors/nurses
Willingness to work in rotational shifts, including nights
Physical stamina to assist with patient handling and emergencies

Employment Type: Full time

Pay: ₹11,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
