Reports To: Chief Pharmacist / Pharmacy In-Charge

Job Summary:

The Pharmacist is responsible for the accurate dispensing of medications, maintaining pharmacy stock, and ensuring compliance with drug safety and hospital regulations, while supporting doctors and patients with reliable medication guidance.

Key Responsibilities:
Accurately dispense prescribed medications to patients, IPD, and OPD as per doctor's prescription
Verify prescriptions for accuracy, dosage, and drug interactions before dispensing
Maintain proper storage of medicines, including cold chain and controlled substances
Manage pharmacy inventory — stock entry, indenting, and reordering to avoid shortages
Monitor expiry dates and ensure timely rotation/disposal of expired medicines
Maintain accurate billing, records, and documentation as per hospital and legal norms




Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding drug availability and substitutions
Educate patients on proper medication usage, dosage, and possible side effects
Ensure compliance with Drugs & Cosmetics Act, narcotic drug regulations, and hospital pharmacy protocols
Participate in hospital audits and maintain records for statutory inspections

Qualifications:
B.Pharm / D.Pharm from a recognized institution
Valid Pharmacist registration/license — Puducherry (PY) or Tamil Nadu (TN) Pharmacy Council

Experience:
Minimum 1+ years of experience in a hospital or retail pharmacy setting

Skills Required:
Strong knowledge of drugs, dosages, and interactions
Attention to detail and accuracy in dispensing
Valuable communication skills with patients and medical staff
Basic computer skills for billing and inventory software
Ability to work in rotational shifts

Employment Type: Full time Pay: ₹12,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
