Job Purpose To lead and execute civil engineering projects, plant expansion, facility development, maintenance, and infrastructure activities while ensuring compliance with GMP, EHS, quality standards, timelines, and approved budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, execute, monitor, and complete civil construction and infrastructure projects within defined timelines and budgets.
Lead plant expansion, greenfield/brownfield projects, renovation, and facility modification activities.
Review civil layouts, architectural drawings, structural drawings, BOQs, and engineering designs before execution.
Coordinate with consultants, architects, contractors, vendors, and internal stakeholders for smooth project execution.
Supervise construction activities and ensure compliance with engineering standards, GMP requirements, and safety regulations.
Manage installation and commissioning support for pharmaceutical utilities and infrastructure, including boilers, chillers, DG sets, air compressors, ETP, water systems, and utility buildings.
Prepare project budgets, schedules, work approvals, cost estimates, and resource plans.
Monitor contractor performance, quality of workmanship, material consumption, and project progress.
Conduct project review meetings and implement corrective actions to remove execution bottlenecks.
Ensure statutory approvals and regulatory compliance related to civil projects.
Plan preventive and breakdown maintenance of civil infrastructure across the plant.
Verify contractor bills, measurements, change orders, and project documentation.
Maintain engineering documentation, project reports, layouts, as-built drawings, and validation support documents.
Drive cost optimization, value engineering, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Ensure adherence to EHS, quality systems, and company SOPs during project execution.
Required Qualifications
B.Tech/B.E. in Civil Engineering.
Experience
12–15 years of experience in Civil Engineering, Projects, and Plant Engineering.
Minimum 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing projects.
Experience in plant expansion, construction, facility management, and infrastructure development.
Exposure to regulated pharmaceutical facilities (USFDA/EU-GMP compliant plants preferred).
Preferred Industry Pharmaceutical, Sterile Injectables, Formulation, or other regulated manufacturing industries.
