Role Overview

A junior accountant supports the finance team with basic accounting tasks, record-keeping, and financial reporting. It’s usually a starting position for someone beginning a career in accounting.

Key Responsibilities
Recording daily financial transactions (sales, expenses, payments)
Maintaining ledgers and journals
Assisting in preparation of financial statements
Handling invoices, billing, and accounts payable/receivable
Reconciling bank statements
Supporting audits and tax filings
Ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting standards

Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (e.g., B.Com)
Basic knowledge of accounting principles (like GAAP concepts)
Familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Tally, QuickBooks, Excel)
