Key NMC Qualifications for Professor (Forensic Medicine & Toxicology):
Educational Qualification: A postgraduate degree (MD in Forensic Medicine/DNB in Forensic Medicine).
Teaching Experience:
Total: 8 years of teaching experience as a postgraduate (PG) teacher in a recognized medical college.
Directly Prior: Must have served as an Associate Professor in Forensic Medicine for at least 3 years in a recognized/permitted medical college.
Alternative Experience: 5 years post-PG experience if fulfilling specific previous draft regulations (subject to updated 2025 guidelines).
Research Publications:
A minimum of 4 research publications (original papers, meta-analysis, systematic reviews, or case series).
Publications must be in indexed journals (Medline, PubMed, Scopus, etc.).
At least two publications must have been published during the tenure as Associate Professor.
The teacher must be the first author or corresponding author.
Registration: A valid registration with the State Medical Council or National Medical Commission (NMC). NMC +3
