Job Description





Desktop support engineer should have the knowledge of following.

Windows 10 / 11
Installation & upgrades
User profiles, permissions
Device Manager, Event Viewer
Registry (basic level)

Hardware Knowledge

Ability to diagnose and replace components:
Desktop & Laptop hardware
RAM, HDD/SSD, battery, displays
BIOS/UEFI configuration
Printers & scanners
OS troubleshooting (boot issues, BSOD, slow performance)

Understanding of:
LAN, WAN, VPN
IP addressing, DHCP, DNS
Wi‑Fi troubleshooting
Ethernet configuration

Email & Collaboration Tools
Outlook (profiles, OST/PST issues)
Exchange (basic mailbox troubleshooting)
Microsoft Teams
OneDrive & SharePoint (sync issues)

Typical Daily Responsibilities
Resolve L1/L2 desktop issues
Set up laptops for recent joiners
Troubleshoot network & email issues
Maintain asset inventory
Provide on‑site & remote support
