Responsible only for performing welding operations on aerospace components using laser welding and conventional welding processes, strictly as per approved drawings and WPS. This role does not include QA, CMM, or inspection ownership.
Key Responsibilities
Perform Laser Welding on precision aerospace components.
Carry out conventional welding processes including:
TIG (GTAW)
MIG (GMAW)
Micro-welding
Weld aerospace materials such as:
Aluminum alloys
Stainless steel
Inconel / Nickel alloys
Titanium (preferred)
Follow approved WPS (Welding Procedure Specification) and welding parameters.
Read and understand welding symbols and fabrication drawings relevant to execution only.
Ensure proper joint preparation, fixturing, and cleanliness before welding.
Control heat input to minimize distortion and defects.
Perform basic pre-weld and post-weld activities:
Cleaning
Part handling
Easy grinding / dressing if required
Maintain welding machines, laser welding setup, and consumables.
Follow shop safety, EHS, and aerospace cleanliness practices.
Coordinate with QA and production teams for part handover after welding.
Required Skills & Qualifications
ITI / Trade Certificate in Welding or relevant mechanical trade.
2–6 years hands-on welding experience (aerospace or precision industry preferred).
Proven experience in laser welding or high-precision TIG welding.
Ability to weld thin sections and critical joints consistently.
Valuable understanding of welding defects and how to avoid them (practical level).
