The Pharmacy Assistant supports pharmacists in providing protected, accurate, and effective pharmacy services. The role involves assisting customers, preparing prescriptions under supervision, managing inventory, maintaining records, and ensuring the pharmacy remains clean, organized, and compliant with applicable regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Assist pharmacists in dispensing medications under supervision.
Receive and process prescriptions accurately.
Help customers with over-the-counter products and direct clinical questions to the pharmacist.
Maintain accurate patient and inventory records.
Stock shelves and monitor medication expiry dates.
Receive, check, and organize incoming pharmaceutical supplies.
Process sales transactions and handle cash or electronic payments.
Keep the pharmacy clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards.
Follow all pharmacy policies, procedures, and confidentiality requirements.
Support administrative tasks as assigned by the pharmacist or pharmacy manager.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Certificate or diploma in Pharmacy Assistant/Pharmacy Technician (preferred).
Previous experience in a pharmacy or healthcare setting is an advantage.
