Job Summary
The Technical Architect in Product Design plays a crucial role in conceptualizing, designing, and delivering innovative product solutions. This position emphasizes a strategic approach to product architecture and development, ensuring alignment with defined scope, quality standards, and client requirements. The Technical Architect will lead a team to develop sustainable solutions while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge advancement.
Domain/Role
Consumer Appliance / Senior Technical Lead
Experience :- 10–15 years of experience in product development and manufacturing within the consumer appliance domain, specializing as a Mechanical Designer.
- Extensive experience as a Product Architect for Built‑in Ovens, Freestanding Ranges, Micro‑Combi Ovens,
and XTM / Extractor Hobs.
- Proven expertise in system and module development, including design, evaluation, validation, testing, and compliance to global cooking appliance standards.
- Strong ability to interpret simulation results (linear and non‑linear) and iteratively refine designs to meet performance, safety, and reliability targets.
- Skilled in identifying and defining critical design parameters impacting assembly quality, Form‑Fit‑Function (FFF), and cost optimization of cooking products.
- Experience in build-phase evaluation, capturing, analyzing, and resolving Red Card / build‑issue reports in collaboration with cross‑functional teams (Manufacturing, Quality, Testing, Supply Chain).
- Advanced proficiency with CAD tools, including complex Class‑A surfacing, with strong focus on aesthetics, gap & flush control, and overall FFF quality.
- Hands‑on experience in the development of components and subsystems in collaboration with suppliers, including design reviews, validation, and industrialization support.
- Well‑versed in international design and testing standards, including UL, IEC, and EU regulatory requirements for cooking appliances. Working knowledge of BIS certification requirements applicable to cooking appliances for the Indian market.
- Extensive experience in planning, executing, and validating reliability qualification at component, module, and complete product levels.
- Knowledgeable in sustainable packaging design, including compliance with transit and transportation test regulations across different geographic markets.
- Strong background in competitive product benchmarking, with demonstrated ability to propose designs exceeding “Best‑in‑Class” benchmarks for performance, quality, and user experience.
- Comprehensive experience in DFMA (Design for Manufacturing and Assembly) to improve manufacturability, reduce cost, and enhance build quality.
- Expertise in material selection, considering thermal performance, safety, durability, cost, sustainability, and regulatory compliance.
