The Role: Are you an engineer who enjoys combining technical expertise with customer engagement Do you thrive on solving complex problems, collaborating across teams, and seeing projects move from concept to completion We are seeking an Application Engineer to support the growth of our water and wastewater treatment business. In this role, you'll serve as a trusted technical resource for consulting engineers, contractors, municipalities, industrial customers, and internal teams. You'll help develop innovative treatment solutions, prepare competitive proposals, and support projects that improve water infrastructure and environmental sustainability. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer who wants to expand beyond traditional design work and play a key role in both technical sales and project development.nnWhat You'll Do: nDevelop technical proposals, cost estimates, and equipment pricing for municipal and industrial water treatment projects. nSupport bid and tender submissions by preparing technical documentation, specifications, pricing, and required bid materials. nServe as a technical advisor to consulting engineers, contractors, municipalities, end users,
and sales representatives. nCollaborate with project management, engineering, manufacturing, and service teams to ensure successful project execution. nReview and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and contract documents. nSupport the transition of awarded projects to project management and engineering teams. nRespond to customer inquiries and provide timely technical guidance throughout the sales process. nUtilize engineering and sales tools including CRM systems, AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and proprietary treatment selection software. nMaintain accurate customer and project information within Salesforce. nStay current on treatment technologies, industry trends, and product developments through ongoing training and career development. nParticipate in industry organizations, local water initiatives, and cross-functional training opportunities. nnWhat You'll Bring: nBachelor's degree in Civil, Environmental, Mechanical, Chemical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. n3+ years of experience in the water and wastewater treatment industry or a related technical field. nStrong understanding of engineering principles, equipment selection, and technical proposal development. nAbility to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and bid documents. nExcellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
nStrong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders. nExperience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications and CRM software. nSelf-motivated with a solid desire to learn, contribute, and achieve results. nnPreferred Qualifications nExperience participating in municipal or industrial bidding/tendering processes. nHands-on experience with controls, electrical panels, instrumentation, or mechanical equipment. nExperience with Salesforce or other CRM platforms. nExposure to water treatment process design, equipment applications, or treatment technologies. nn#LI-JO2 nJoin the global Xylem team to be a part of innovative technology solutions transforming water usage, conservation, and re-use.
