Phlebotomist

Reporting To

Centre Manager / Laboratory Manager / Management

Job Purpose

The Phlebotomist shall be responsible for collecting blood and other patient samples in a safe, accurate, and professional manner while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and service. The role requires extensive field movement across various NDC Diagnostic Centre locations, hospitals, clinics, corporate clients, camps, and doctors' clinics as directed by the Management.

Key ResponsibilitiesSample Collection

- Perform venous and capillary blood collection procedures in accordance with established protocols.
- Ensure proper patient identification before sample collection.
- Label, handle, store, and transport samples as per laboratory quality standards.
- Maintain sample integrity during collection and transportation.
- Coordinate with laboratory personnel regarding sample dispatch and reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with NABL, quality, and safety guidelines.

Inter-Centre Operations

- Travel between different NDC Diagnostic Centre branches as assigned by the Management.
- Provide phlebotomy support at any centre experiencing staff shortages, increased workload, or operational requirements.
- Assist in smooth functioning of collection activities across all assigned locations.

Emergency & Priority Collections

- Attend urgent blood collection requests from doctors, hospitals, clinics, corporate clients, and patients whenever assigned by the Management.
- Be available for priority sample collection requirements within operational hours.
- Travel to different centres, doctors' clinics, hospitals, and other designated locations whenever necessary for patient care and business continuity.

Home Collection & Field Duties

- Conduct home sample collection visits as assigned.
- Ensure professional behaviour and patient satisfaction during home visits.




- Maintain proper records of field collections and report completion status to the concerned authority.

Administrative & Operational Support

- Assist in administrative, operational, and support activities as directed by the Management.
- Support patient registration, document handling, report coordination, inventory movement, camp activities, and other operational requirements whenever required.
- The Employee shall not unreasonably refuse any administrative, operational, or support work assigned by the Management, provided such work is connected with the Company's business operations.

Health Camps & Outreach Activities

- Participate in health camps, corporate wellness programs, outreach activities, and promotional events organized by the Company.
- Perform sample collection and operational support duties during camps and field activities.

Vehicle Responsibility

- The Company may provide a vehicle for official duties.
- The Employee shall ensure responsible use, cleanliness, safety, and proper maintenance of the vehicle.
- The vehicle shall be used strictly for authorized Company work.
- Any misuse, negligence, traffic violations, or unauthorized use may result in disciplinary action and recovery of losses, where applicable.

Working Hours

- The position requires a minimum of 10 hours of duty per working day.
- Due to the nature of healthcare services, duty hours may be extended based on operational requirements, emergencies, patient needs, camps, or urgent collections.
- The Employee may be required to work in shifts,



on weekends, Sundays, public holidays, or beyond normal working hours as directed by the Management.

Travel Requirement

This position involves substantial travel.

The Employee must be willing and able to:

- Travel between centres on a regular basis.
- Visit doctors, hospitals, clinics, corporate clients, and patient locations.
- Attend urgent blood collection assignments at short notice.
- Travel to any location assigned by the Company within the operational territory.

Refusal to perform reasonable travel-related duties forming part of the role may be treated as non-performance of assigned responsibilities.

Skills & Qualifications

- DMLT / MLT / Relevant Phlebotomy Qualification preferred.
- Experience in blood collection and sample handling.
- Good communication and patient-handling skills.
- Ability to work independently and under pressure.
- Willingness to travel extensively.
- Basic understanding of laboratory procedures and quality requirements.

Performance Expectations

The Employee shall be evaluated on:

- Accuracy of sample collection.
- Patient satisfaction and service quality.
- Timely completion of assigned collections.
- Availability for urgent operational requirements.
- Cooperation with centres and management.
- Compliance with SOPs and quality standards.
- Discipline, attendance, and responsiveness.
- Ability to support overall business operations beyond routine collection duties.

Other Conditions

The duties and responsibilities listed above are illustrative and not exhaustive. The Management reserves the right to assign additional responsibilities, modify duties, or reallocate work based on operational requirements and business needs from time to time.

Pay: ₹13,000.00 - ₹18,000.00 per month
