Qualification-Masters in Physiotherapy
Experience-3 to 4 years

Ø Be responsible for the overall management and performance of therapy activity within the designated area in keeping with good professional practice

Ø Provide clinical and professional leadership in the delivery of a high-quality therapy service.

Ø Ensure best practice therapy needs, assessments and appropriate range of service user interventions are in place.

Ø Ensure that professional standards are maintained.

Ø Work as a member of the multidisciplinary team as required for the service.

Ø Develop good working relationships with other Heads of Service, Doctors, Centre Incharge, patient care takers to provide integrated quality care to service users.

Ø Ensure the provision of professional and clinical supervision to all therapists.

Ø Compile reports of wherever necessary based on the documented therapeutic care of the patient.

Ø Undertake other responsibilities consistent with the nature of the post including programmes of research and development and

Ø Apart from physiotherapy, to be competent enough to handle the other departments of therapy, Occupational therapy, speech therapy , respiratory therapy, clinical psychology ,yoga therapy on clinical and administration aspects .

· Education & Training

Ø Maintain standards of practice and levels of professional knowledge by participating in continuous professional development initiatives and attendance at courses as appropriate.

Ø Engage in career and professional development planning.





Ø Encourage and support the promotion of staff development and training by conducting L and D s, making recommendations with regard to the ongoing education, research, training and in service needs of therapists.

· Health & Safety

Ø Take responsibility for all aspects of staff and client safety within their area of responsibility.

Ø Contribute to the development of policies, procedures, guidelines and secure professional practice regulations standards and ensure that staff complies with same.

Ø Carry out risk assessments as appropriate within the Physiotherapy service as required.

Ø Ensure all staff are aware of all policies and trained to implement them including clinical risk assessment with service users.

· Service Provision

Ø Be responsible for the strategic and operational management and delivery of therapy services

Ø . · Be responsible for day-to-day work scheduling in response to changes in staff /resource availability and service demands

Ø Manage and organise the efficient ordering and stock control of all materials, equipment and supplies needed for the effective running of the therapy service.

Ø ·Attend family meetings and educate the family on the milestones achieved, plan to be executed based on short term and long term goals .





Ø To Keep the primary consultant always in the loop of rehabilitation by periodically updating him the progress of the patient.

· IP and OP

Ø ·To provide best of care for patients, post ponding discharge based on clinical stands ,in joint decision with the medical Doctor .

Ø ·Work keenly by all means to improve and be accountable for the revenue generated for OP

· Service Planning and Evaluation

Ø Collaborate with relevant personnel to produce the Operational Plans for therapy services in line with service plans

Ø . · Facilitate change in work practices as required.

Ø Provide reports on day-to-day activity in the CRM

Ø Facilitate the implementation of integrated and streamlined therapy services in the area. Support and engage in relevant clinical research, audit and service evaluation.

· Leadership

Ø Lead by example, a professional, efficient and dedicated team with open communication and healthy working relationships.

Ø Manage self in accordance with professional standards and maintain a high-quality ethos within the service.

· Administration

Ø Plan and organize services in a fair and equitable fashion ensuring good patient care.

Ø Manage, induct, supervise and mentor staff in line with best practice in people management, including staff performance and review processes and in line with evidence-based practise.

Ø Ensure all staff, new and rotational, are inducted into their assigned clinical areas.
