Job Summary

The IB PYP & EYP Librarian is responsible for creating and managing a vibrant, child-centered library that nurtures curiosity, inquiry, and a lifelong love of reading. The librarian collaborates with teachers to support transdisciplinary learning, develops age-appropriate library resources, and fosters information and digital literacy in alignment with the IB philosophy.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage the daily operations of the Early Years and Primary School Library.
- Curate and maintain a diverse collection of print, digital, and multilingual resources aligned with the PYP curriculum.
- Collaborate with EYP and PYP teachers to support Units of Inquiry through carefully selected resources.
- Plan and conduct engaging library lessons that promote reading, storytelling, inquiry, and research skills.
- Foster early literacy, information literacy, and digital citizenship among young learners.
- Organize storytelling sessions, author visits, book fairs, reading challenges, and literacy celebrations.




- Guide students in selecting age-appropriate books that encourage independent reading.
- Maintain library cataloguing, circulation, inventory, and library management systems.
- Support teachers in identifying quality literature and inquiry resources.
- Create welcoming, inclusive, and versatile library spaces that inspire exploration and creativity.
- Promote academic honesty through age-appropriate instruction on responsible information use.
- Maintain library budgets, acquisitions, and annual inventory.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Library & Information Science (B.Lib./M.Lib.).
- Degree in Education or teaching qualification preferred.
- IB PYP training or experience in an IB World School is preferred.
- Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a school librarian, preferably in an international or IB school.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
