Responsibilities of a Vet Tech:
- Assisting in animal examinations
- Administering medications and vaccines
- Collecting blood, urine, and tissue samples
- Performing laboratory tests (bloodwork, urinalysis, etc.)
- Monitoring anesthesia during surgeries
- Taking and developing X-rays
- Providing wound care and first aid
- Educating pet owners on animal care
- Maintaining medical records
Education & Certification:
Most vet techs complete a two-year Diploma in Live Stock Management.
