- Direct Patient Care: Monitor vital signs, administer medications, manage ventilators, feeding tubes, and other NICU equipment, and perform medical procedures such as IV insertion and blood tests.
- Basic Infant Care: Attend to feeding, diaper changes, hygiene, and comfort of newborns.
- Family Support: Educate and provide emotional support to parents and guardians, helping them understand their infant’s condition and care needs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Emergency Response: Make critical decisions in urgent situations, including neonatal resuscitation and stabilization.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate medical records, report changes in patient condition, and participate in clinical research or quality improvement initiatives.

Required Skills and Qualifications

- Education: Registered Nurse (RN) license with specialized training in neonatal care.
- Certifications: Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) and other relevant critical care certifications.




- Experience: Prior experience in NICU or pediatric critical care preferred.
- Skills: Strong clinical knowledge, ability to operate complex NICU equipment, critical thinking, teamwork, and emotional resilience.

Work Environment

- Setting: Hospital-based NICU, often quick-paced and high-stress.
- Schedule: May include night shifts, weekends, and holidays due to the 24/7 nature of patient care.
- Reporting Structure: Typically reports to the Charge Nurse or Nurse Manager.
