The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy working environment by implementing safety policies, conducting inspections, promoting compliance with applicable regulations, and fostering a solid safety culture across the manufacturing facility. The role focuses on preventing workplace accidents, minimizing occupational hazards, and ensuring compliance with statutory safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop, implement, and monitor workplace health and safety policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with applicable occupational health and safety laws, regulations, and company standards.
- Conduct routine safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across the manufacturing plant.
- Identify workplace hazards and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
- Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, and prepare detailed investigation reports.
- Organize safety induction programs and conduct regular training sessions, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.
- Monitor the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and ensure adherence to safety practices.
- Coordinate fire safety inspections, emergency preparedness activities, and evacuation drills.
- Maintain safety records, incident reports, inspection reports, permits, and statutory documentation.
- Ensure contractors and visitors comply with plant safety requirements.
- Participate in safety committee meetings and promote employee engagement in safety initiatives.
- Monitor compliance with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Permit to Work (PTW), confined space entry, hot work, and work-at-height procedures.
- Recommend improvements to eliminate unsafe conditions and enhance workplace safety.
- Coordinate with government authorities and external auditors during inspections and compliance reviews.
- Support implementation of ISO 45001 and other EHS management systems where applicable.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Industrial Safety, Environmental Science,



or a related field.
- Diploma/PG Diploma in Industrial Safety from a recognized institution.
- Certification in First Aid and Fire Safety is preferred.

Experience

- 3–7 years of experience as a Safety Officer in a fertiliser manufacturing, engineering, chemical, automotive, or industrial environment.
- Experience in statutory safety compliance and safety management systems is preferred.

Technical Skills

- Knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations.
- Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA).
- Incident investigation and root cause analysis.
- Fire prevention and emergency response planning.
- Permit to Work (PTW) system.
- Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures.
- PPE management and safety audits.
- MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and report preparation.
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 is an advantage.

- Statutory compliance with zero regulatory violations.

Working Conditions

- Primarily based in a manufacturing plant with regular shop-floor inspections.
- Exposure to industrial machinery, noise, heat, and production operations.

Pay: Up to ₹30,000.00 per month
