Job Description:
As a Dialysis Technician at Manipal Hospitals, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining dialysis machines for patients with kidney failure. You will prepare patients for dialysis treatment, monitor their condition throughout the procedure, and ensure a safe and sterile environment. Your role will involve collaborating with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care while maintaining accurate records and adhering to safety protocols. You will also educate patients and their families about the dialysis process and provide emotional support during treatment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate dialysis machines and equipment.
- Prepare patients for dialysis procedures, ensuring their comfort and safety.
- Monitor vital signs and patient condition during dialysis, noting any changes.
- Maintain cleanliness and sterility of the dialysis area and equipment.
- Administer medications as prescribed and manage any complications that arise during treatment.
- Record patient data accurately and update medical records as necessary.
- Collaborate with nephrologists and nursing staff to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding dialysis and kidney health.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Completed a diploma or degree in Dialysis Technology, Nursing, or a related field.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) is preferred.
- Solid understanding of dialysis procedures and equipment operation.
- Excellent patient care and communication skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
