Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Tax Manager to lead and manage the organization's global tax compliance, tax provisioning, and tax advisory activities across multiple jurisdictions. The ideal candidate should possess hands-on experience with US federal and state tax compliance, international tax matters, transfer pricing, and Indian tax regulations, preferably within a multinational IT Services, Digital Engineering, Consulting, or Technology organization.
- The role will partner closely with external tax advisors, business leaders, accounting teams, and auditors to ensure timely compliance, effective tax planning, and mitigation of tax risks across global operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Global Direct Tax Compliance
- Manage and coordinate corporate income tax compliance across multiple jurisdictions, including United States (Federal and State filings), India, United Kingdom, Canada, Mexico and European jurisdictions (as applicable).
- Coordinate with external tax consultants and CPA firms for preparation and filing of tax returns.
- Review quarterly estimated tax calculations and annual tax filings.
- Monitor tax law changes and assess impact on the organization.
US Taxation
- Support preparation and review of Federal corporate tax returns, State and local tax filings, Franchise tax filings, Extension filings, Annual information returns.
- Manage tax-related notices and inquiries from federal and state authorities.
- Collaborate with US advisors on tax provision calculations and deferred tax analyses.
Global Tax Provision & Reporting
- Assist in quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations under US GAAP (ASC 740).
- Prepare supporting schedules for Current taxes, Deferred taxes, Effective tax rate reconciliations, Uncertain tax positions
- Support external audits and tax reviews by Big-4 or other external auditors.
International Tax & Transfer Pricing
- Coordinate transfer pricing documentation and compliance across global entities.
- Review intercompany transactions and ensure adherence to transfer pricing regulations.
- Assist in maintaining global transfer pricing policies and supporting documentation.
- Support cross-border tax matters including Permanent establishment assessments, Withholding tax obligations, Intercompany recharge arrangements, BEPS-related requirements.
Indirect Tax & Regulatory Compliance
- Oversee GST compliance and related reconciliations.
- Coordinate TDS compliance and annual tax reporting requirements.
- Support tax audits, assessments, and litigation matters.
- Monitor global indirect tax obligations where applicable.
Business Advisory & Strategic Support
- Provide tax guidance for Current customer contracts, Global delivery models, New entity set-ups, Cross-border employee mobility, M&A; transactions and due diligence projects.
- Support tax-efficient structuring of global business operations.
Process Improvement & Automation
- Standardize and improve tax compliance processes.
- Work with ERP systems (NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, etc.) to enhance tax reporting capabilities.
- Develop dashboards and compliance calendars to improve monitoring and governance.
- Drive automation initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce compliance risk.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Chartered Accountant (CA) – Mandatory
- Additional qualification such as CPA, EA, ACCA, or Diploma in International Taxation will be an advantage.
- 5–7 years of progressive experience in taxation.
- Prior experience in IT Services, Technology Services, Consulting, Digital Engineering organizations preferred.
Preferred Experience
- Experience supporting US-headquartered multinational companies.
- Exposure to Big-4 tax environments (Deloitte, EY, PwC, KPMG) either directly or through client interactions.
- Hands-on involvement in US corporate tax filings and global compliance management.
- Experience coordinating tax compliance across India, North America, and Europe.
- Experience in transfer pricing and tax provision under US GAAP.
- Prior experience in a fast-growing IT services or digital transformation company.
Must-have skills
- Expertise in U.S. and international tax matters, including corporate tax, state tax compliance, ASC 740, transfer pricing, and tax provision processes.
- Strong understanding of Indian tax regulations, including Income Tax, GST, TDS, withholding taxes, audit support, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP, coupled with advanced Excel capabilities for financial and tax reporting.
