Azure Local / Cloud Migration Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Azure Local & Cloud Migration Engineer to support infrastructure modernization, datacenter transformation, and cloud migration initiatives. The role involves assessing existing environments, designing migration strategies, implementing Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) solutions, and executing workload migrations from on-premises infrastructure to Azure and hybrid cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) Administration

- Deploy, configure, and manage Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) environments.
- Integrate Azure Local with Azure Arc and Azure management services.
- Configure clustering, storage spaces direct (S2D), networking, and virtualization components.
- Monitor platform health, performance, and capacity.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity solutions.

Migration Planning & Execution

- Assess existing infrastructure, applications, and dependencies.
- Develop migration strategies, runbooks, and cutover plans.
- Migrate workloads from:
- VMware
- Hyper-V
- Physical Servers
- Legacy datacenters
- Execute cloud migrations using Azure Migrate and related tools.
- Perform migration testing, validation, and post-migration support.

Infrastructure Modernization

- Modernize Windows and Linux server estates.
- Implement hybrid cloud architectures.
- Optimize workloads for performance, security, and cost.
- Support infrastructure automation initiatives.

Security & Compliance

- Implement Azure security best practices.
- Configure identity management using Entra ID (Azure AD).
- Ensure compliance with organizational security standards.
- Support vulnerability remediation and patch management.





Automation & DevOps

- Develop automation scripts using:
- PowerShell
- Azure CLI
- Terraform
- ARM/Bicep Templates
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure deployments.

Experience

- 5+ years of Infrastructure Engineering experience.
- 3+ years of Azure Cloud experience.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Stack HCI / Azure Local.
- Experience in large-scale datacenter or cloud migration projects.
- Experience with hybrid cloud environments.

Nice to Have

- Kubernetes / AKS knowledge.
- Backup technologies (Veeam, Commvault, Rubrik).
- Experience in Life Sciences, Manufacturing, or Enterprise environments.
- Knowledge of FinOps and cloud cost optimization.
