Role Description The Online SAT English Mentor is a part-time remote role focused on helping students prepare for the SAT English (Reading and Writing) sections through live, online sessions. Day-to-day responsibilities include planning and delivering interactive lessons, explaining SAT English concepts and strategies, guiding students through practice questions, and providing constructive feedback on reading comprehension and writing tasks. The mentor will track student progress, identify areas for improvement, and adapt teaching methods to different learning styles. Additional tasks may include creating or refining learning materials, communicating with parents or guardians about student performance,



and maintaining accurate records of sessions and outcomes. The mentor is expected to uphold Codeyoung's student-centric, supportive teaching philosophy in every interaction.

Qualifications

- Strong command of English language, including grammar, vocabulary, reading comprehension, and academic writing.
- Experience teaching or tutoring SAT English, standardized test prep, or high school English, with knowledge of current SAT patterns and strategies.
- Ability to design and deliver interactive, student-centered online lessons using digital tools and learning platforms.
- Excellent communication, active listening, and feedback skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young learners.
- Reliable high-speed internet connection and comfort with work from home, including managing online classrooms and digital resources.
- Bachelor's degree in English, Education, Linguistics, Communications, or a related field preferred; relevant tutoring experience may substitute.
- Demonstrated patience, cultural sensitivity, and commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices.
- Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings or weekends, to accommodate learners in different time zones.
