About the RoleORCHIDS hires approximately 2,500 teachers annually. The Academic Talent Council (ATC) is a dedicated central team responsible exclusively for assessing and selecting teachers across academic subjects.This is not a classroom teaching role and not a recruitment role. We are seeking experienced educators who can objectively identify exceptional teachers, assess subject expertise, evaluate teaching effectiveness, and recommend the right talent for our schools.As a Subject Specialist, you will be responsible for maintaining the academic benchmark for your subject by conducting structured assessments, academic interviews, and teaching demonstrations. You will also remain accountable for the quality and success of the teachers you select, with performance measured by their effectiveness during the first 90 days of employment. Key Responsibilities* Conduct grade-specific subject knowledge assessments and situational judgement evaluations.* Lead structured academic interviews covering pedagogy, learning outcomes, classroom management,



assessment practices, and differentiated instruction.* Evaluate teaching demonstrations using standardized scorecards to ensure objective and consistent selection decisions.* Partner with recruitment teams to support subject-specific hiring requirements and strengthen the teacher talent pipeline.* Contribute to subject question banks and scoring calibration to maintain consistent academic standards.* Support onboarding and monitor the competency outcomes of selected teachers during their initial employment period.Eligibility CriteriaApplicants should possess:* A strong academic and teaching background in the relevant subject.* A minimum of 5 years of classroom teaching experience at the relevant grade level.* Proven ability to evaluate teaching quality objectively and consistently.* Solid communication, interviewing, and feedback skills.* Familiarity with CBSE, ICSE, or IB curriculum standards.* Willingness to travel for demo rounds and hiring activities.Experience as a Head of Department (HOD), Academic Mentor, Teacher Trainer, or Academic Coordinator will be an added advantage.Please Note: This position is intended exclusively for professionals from an academic/teaching background.
