On behalf of one of India's leading manufacturers of specialty colourants and pigments, we are looking for an experienced Head of Manufacturing to lead and drive manufacturing excellence across its operations.The company serves a diverse range of industries, including paints & coatings, printing inks, personal care, pharmaceuticals, food, and specialty chemicals, and is expanding its manufacturing footprint.Location: near MumbaiKey Responsibilities:Own and drive manufacturing operations across 2–3 plants, ensuring seamless day-to-day functioning and achieving output, quality, and cost targets.Own the full manufacturing P&L;—including raw material costs, conversion costs, labour, overheads, energy, and waste—with accountability for delivering against annual budget targets.Drive year-on-year manufacturing cost reduction through waste elimination, yield improvement, energy optimisation, and process efficiency projects.Establish standardised operating procedures (SOPs) and ensure rigorous, consistent adherence across all sites.Build a culture of operational discipline, accountability, and continuous improvement (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma or equivalent).Champion a zero-defect mindset and oversee QMS (Quality Management System)



evolution and certification readiness.Partner with the R&D;/Technical team to validate quality specifications for current products prior to commercial launch.Lead the industrialisation of new products from R&D; to stable commercial production—defining process parameters, raw material specs, batch sizes, and yield benchmarks.Establish robust technology transfer protocols to ensure reproducibility across batches and plants.Maintain and continuously update the manufacturing process knowledge base.Build leadership depth in the manufacturing function by identifying and grooming the next tier of plant and shift managers.Foster a high-performance culture aligned with the company's values of quality, innovation, and customer centricity. Key Requirements:15+ years of manufacturing leadership experience, with at least 5 years leading multi-plant operationsExperience in specialty chemicals, paints & coatings, inks, adhesives, FMCG chemicals, or related process industriesStrong expertise in P&L; management, manufacturing operations, production planning, and cost optimizationProven track record in improving productivity, yield, throughput, and operational efficiencyHands-on experience with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and ISO 9001/14001 quality standardsExperience managing 100+ member cross-functional, multi-location manufacturing teamsB.E. / B.Tech in Chemical Engineering or a related discipline (MBA preferred)If you're a strategic manufacturing leader with a passion for operational excellence and continuous improvement, we'd love to hear from you.We thank all the applicants for their interest.
