Lead Full Stack Software Engineer (Data & Analytics)

Data and Analytics at COMPLY

COMPLY is the worlds leading aggregator of financial and regulatory data to support compliance. Our mission is to help financial institutions meet their regulatory obligations with confidence, clarity, and speed. We ingest, process, and enrich vast volumes of complex, high-variance data from hundreds of brokers, data providers and other sources of information across the US and beyond. The scale, diversity, and importance of this data creates unique technical challenges and opportunities for innovative engineers. The COMPLY Data Platform is a strategic initiative at the heart of this mission. It underpins everything from our broker feed ingestion and security master to advanced analytics, AI-driven nsights, and future regulatory technologies. The platform is growing fast, and so is the need for accessible, well-designed user interfaces to manage it. We're looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer to help us build those interfaces, creating the tools and dashboards that power our internal users and unlock the full value of our data infrastructure.

The Role

As a Lead Full Stack Engineer on the Data and Analytics team, you'll take technical ownership of the systems and interfaces that power our data platform from database design and back-end APIs through to the dashboards and tools our internal users rely on every day. You'll set the standard for engineering quality on the team, guide architectural decisions, and mentor engineers around you, while remaining hands-on across the full stack. This is a senior individual contributor role with significant technical leadership responsibilities, and the opportunity to shape how we build for scale.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the design and delivery of full-stack features across our data platform applications, from database through to UI.
- Take ownership of complex, cross-cutting technical problems and drive them through to production.
- Define and advocate for engineering best practices: testing strategy, code quality, API design,

database schema, security, and performance.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, data operations, and other engineers to translate requirements into well-architected solutions.
- Mentor and support other engineers through code review, pair programming, and technical guidance.
- Contribute to architectural discussions and help evaluate technology choices across the team.
- Build applications that enable internal users to operate and manage our data platform, with a strong appreciation for how those apps interact with the underlying data infrastructure designing for performance, reliability, and minimal friction between layers. Help establish patterns for front-end component design, state management, and API integration.
- Champion a culture of incremental delivery, continuous improvement, and shared ownership.
- Embrace a DevOps mindset: take end-to-end ownership of what you build, from development through deployment, monitoring, and production support. If you build it, you support it.

Essential Criteria

- Front-end expertise: Proven experience building complex, production-grade front-end applications using contemporary frameworks (e.g. Vue, React, Blazor, or similar). Deep understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML/CSS, and browser performance.
- Back-end proficiency: Solid experience designing and building RESTful or event-driven APIs, preferably in C#/.NET. Comfortable working across services and distributed system patterns.
- Database skills: Confident working with relational databases particularly PostgreSQL including schema design, query optimisation, indexing, and managing migrations in production environments.
- Testing discipline:

Strong commitment to and practical experience with testing at all levels unit, integration, and end-to-end and the ability to instill good testing practices across a team.
- Full-stack ownership: Demonstrated ability to take a feature from requirements to production across the full stack, making sound trade-offs along the way.
- Technical leadership: Experience guiding technical direction, conducting meaningful code reviews, and raising the bar for engineering quality in a team environment.
- Communication: Able to explain technical decisions clearly to both engineering peers and non- technical stakeholders.
- Problem-solving at scale: Experience working on data-intensive or high-volume systems and understanding the constraints that come with them.
- A DevOps mindset with experience monitoring, operating, and supporting systems in production. Comfortable with observability tooling, incident response, and treating operational health as part of the engineering role.

Desirable Criteria

- Experience building internal tooling, operational dashboards, or admin interfaces for data- centric domains.
- Familiarity with Blazor for front-end development.
- Exposure to cloud-native development on AWS.
- Experience with performance profiling, monitoring, and observability tooling.
- Background in fintech, compliance, or regulated data environments.
- Familiarity with event-driven architectures or message queue systems (e.g. SQS, Kafka).
- Experience with accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.

What We Offer

- Technically challenging problems at a scale that genuinely matters financial compliance data that institutions depend on.
- A collaborative, curious engineering culture that values integrity and craft.
- A modern, cloud-native stack with real autonomy to shape how we build.
- The opportunity to take meaningful technical ownership and influence the direction of a growing platform.
- Support for continuous learning and a team that takes improvement seriously.
