- Job Purpose: The Vendor Development Manager is responsible for building a reliable, costeffective, and highquality supplier ecosystem to support organizational production, quality, and growth goals. The role ensures continuous development of new vendors, enhances performance of existing suppliers, and drives improvements in quality, delivery, cost, and compliance. By enabling smooth proto development, reducing supply chain risks, and ensuring strict adherence to SOPs and audit requirements, the Vendor Development Manager strengthens supply continuity, operational efficiency, and longterm strategic sourcing capability.

- Vendor Development
- Develop and onboard 1 recent vendor/fabricator every quarter
- Complete vendor onboarding within 30–45 days of identification
- Ensure capability evaluation, technical approvals, and documentation readiness
- Vendor Performance Management
- Achieve 95% OnTime Delivery (OTD) across active vendors
- Drive 3–5% annual cost savings through negotiations, VA/VE, and alternate sourcing
- Maintain vendor audit performance at an 80+ score for all key vendors
- Quality Performance
Maintain vendor defect rate Ensure vendor rejection rate < 1% per annum.
- Drive corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) implementation with rootcause closure
- Proto Development
- Ensure 95% ontime proto delivery for all NPD/engineering requirements
Maintain proto rework rate at
- Strengthen vendor readiness for prototypes through early engagement and feasibility reviews
- Supply Chain Enablement
- Maintain zero stockouts for critical and singlesource items.
- Achieve 10% reduction in lead time through vendor collaboration, inventory strategies, and process optimization.
- Compliance & Governance
- Ensure 100% adherence to SOPs, documentation, and procurement compliance.
- Close all nonconformities (NCs) within 30 days of identification.
- Maintain complete audit readiness for vendor and internal processes.
- Safety, Health & Environmental Compliance at vendor place
- Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols and regulatory requirements (e.g., fire safety, pollution control)
- Conduct regular safety audits, risk assessments, and emergency drills
- Promote a zero-incident culture and ensure all employees at vendor's work are trained in safety practices
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Maintain strong coordination with design, sales, finance and customer service teams
- Ensure alignment of vendors operations with customer expectations and business objectives
- Facilitate smooth communication and issue resolution across departments
