What youll do at Ather:

- Lead New Program Costing and Budgeting Activities
- Identify cost reduction/optimization opportunities across all cost drivers that add to the gross margin (part cost, assembly cost, logistics cost, packaging cost and so on)
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (engineering, sourcing, manufacturing, Product , Finance) to integrate cost considerations into the product development lifecycle.
- Perform detailed cost analysis on new designs, identifying key cost drivers while maintaining a Design to Cost approach and facilitate trade-off decisions to optimize product cost.
- Assess and influence design decisions across teams to optimize the bill of materials (BOM) cost for current, redesigned, or conceptual parts and assemblies.
- Develop and implement cost targets for new programs.
- Prepare budgets for NPD program costs (Capex,Opex)
- Monitor and track product costs throughout the development process and report on variances.
- Apply first principles thinking in all cross-functional financial decisions and activities

Heres what we are looking for:

- BE Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics with 10-15 years of experience in product companies and adept in agile way of working.




- Good understanding of manufacturing processes like casting, machining, forging, injection moulding, sheet metal operations, fabrication, compression moulding, coating, welding etc
- Basic understanding of electronics and electrical systems and their functions
- Exposure to PCBA and wire harness manufacturing process and should costing is a plus
- Well versed with product development process/lifecycle in a hardware company and involvement of commercial decision-making in every step
- Adept at should costing/zero based costing - ability to prepare detailed costing for a part/assembly
- BOM preparation and understanding of EBOM or MBOM
- Ability to financially assess projects and activities in swim lanes (cross functions) and be the Finance vertical representative in swim lanes
- Experience in zero based budgeting for NPD program costs (Capex,Opex)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in an agile environment.
