Script Writer — Instagram Reels & You Tube | Study Abroad

About the role

We're looking for a script writer who can turn complex study-abroad information — visa processes, university requirements, IELTS/PTE preparation — into short, engaging video content that students and parents actually watch to the end.

You'll write for Instagram Reels, You Tube Shorts and long-form You Tube, working directly with our counselling team and video editor.

Key Responsibilities

1. Write short-form video scripts that hold attention

Draft 30–60 second scripts for Instagram Reels and You Tube Shorts, with a solid hook in the first 3 seconds and a clear payoff. Deliver 8–12 scripts per week, shoot-ready.

2. Translate complex information into simple language

Research visa rules, university admission requirements, intake deadlines and language test formats — then rewrite them so a 17-year-old student or a non-English-speaking parent understands immediately. Accuracy matters as much as engagement.

3. Develop long-form You Tube scripts

Write structured 8–15 minute scripts for university guides, country comparisons, IELTS/PTE strategy sessions and student testimonial interviews, including segment breakdowns and B-roll suggestions.

4. Own the content calendar around admission cycles

Plan and maintain a rolling content calendar aligned to intake seasons and application deadlines (September,



January, May), so our content lands when students are actively searching.

5. Write the full content package, not just the script

Deliver captions, on-screen text, hashtags, You Tube titles, descriptions and thumbnail copy — optimised for search terms like "Study in [Country]", "Student Visa Process" and "IELTS Tips".

6. Collaborate with counsellors and the editing team

Work with senior counsellors to fact-check every claim, and with the video editor to ensure scripts are practical to shoot and cut. Adapt drafts based on production constraints.

7. Track performance and improve

Review retention curves, watch time, saves and shares. Identify which hooks and formats work, and feed those learnings into the next batch of scripts.

What we're looking for

- 1–3 years writing scripts for short-form video (portfolio required)
- Strong command of conversational English; Hindi or Punjabi a plus
- Understanding of what performs on Instagram and You Tube — not just good writing
- Ability to research accurately and work to deadlines
- Ethical writing: we never guarantee visas or admissions. All content must frame outcomes honestly
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Film, Creative Writing, Education, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
