About the Role

The Design Intern will help bring ideas to life—turning sketches, thoughts, and concepts into meaningful products and visual stories. This role sits at the heart of product design, visual storytelling, and merchandising, where creativity directly shapes how ideas are experienced in the real world.

At HUFT, design goes beyond aesthetics—it connects deeply with pets and pet parents, shaping products and experiences that improve the lives of animals we love.

You’ll work closely with the design team to explore product ideas, build visual directions, and develop designs that are thoughtful, functional, and emotionally engaging. We’re looking for someone who is curious about how things are made, excited by aesthetics, and eager to experiment, learn, and create.

Key Responsibilities / What You Will Do

- Translate ideas into early sketches, concepts, and product explorations that evolve into tangible design directions.
- Support product design development through mock-ups, iterations, and visual storytelling.
- Create high-quality design assets using Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator for product and brand needs.
- Develop illustrations, layouts, mood boards, and presentation boards that bring ideas to life visually.
- Assist in shaping product stories for collections designed for pets and pet parents through strong merchandising and visual thinking.
- Help translate design concepts into retail-ready visuals that feel cohesive, engaging, and on-brand for a pet-first lifestyle brand.
- Stay inspired by tracking design trends, materials, colours, and cultural references,



especially in pet lifestyle and consumer products.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute fast-paced creative work with clarity and attention to detail.

Qualifications & Skills / What You Need

- Currently pursuing or recently graduated in Product Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Industrial Design, or related fields.
- Strong hands-on skills in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
- Good understanding of product design thinking and visual development process.
- Strong aesthetic sense with an eye for composition, colour, typography, and detail.
- Ability to sketch, visualize, and communicate ideas clearly through design.
- Interest in products, design systems, merchandising, and visual storytelling.
- A genuine love for pets and interest in pet lifestyle products is a strong advantage.
- Highly curious, observant, and open to learning in a rapid-moving creative environment.
- A portfolio of academic or personal design work is highly valued.
