We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Storage Administrator with 9+ years of experience in Mainframe Storage Administration. The role involves providing technical support while meeting Service Level Agreements (SLA) and process compliance. The candidate will perform business impact analysis, risk assessments, storage migration, replication, disaster recovery planning, storage management, and operational support within enterprise mainframe environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide technical support while meeting SLA and process compliance.
- Perform business impact analysis and risk assessment to reduce service outages.
- Adopt storage technologies to meet customer and business requirements.
- Perform storage box data migration (DASD to DASD and Tape to Tape).
- Manage storage replication activities.
- Analyze and research storage integration options with external systems.
- Prepare Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and SLA reports.
- Develop, document and maintain backup, restore, performance tuning and configuration procedures.
- Create and manage DASD volumes and tape volumes.
- Perform space management activities including VTOC resizing, Defrag, Compress, Reclaim, Release and dataset cleaning.
- Manage SMS rules, ACS routines and storage dataset reorganization.
- Plan and execute disaster recovery testing including Tape Recovery, DASD Replication and Tape Replication.
- Manage GDPS copy services.
- Troubleshoot production issues and resolve them within SLA.
- Lead daily operational meetings and support problem management initiatives.
