Job Description
Position: Assistant Manager Fire & Safety
Department: Loss Prevention & Risk Management (LPRM)
Location: Andhra Pradesh
Age Limit: Below 35 Years
Experience: 4-5 years
1. Role Purpose:
To implement and monitor fire prevention, protection, and emergency response measures
across assigned retail stores, warehouses, and offices ensuring full compliance with
statutory norms and company safety standards.
2. Key Responsibilities:
Fire Prevention & System Maintenance
• Ensure all fire protection systems (hydrant, sprinkler, alarm, extinguisher, etc.) remain
functional and compliant.
• Conduct fire risk assessments, inspections, and coordinate preventive maintenance with
Engineering teams.
Emergency Preparedness
• Maintain and periodically review store-level emergency and evacuation plans.
• Conduct regular fire and evacuation drills; ensure readiness of response teams.
• Coordinate with local Fire Brigade and statutory authorities during emergencies.
Training Awareness
• Organize fire safety trainings and drills for store and warehouse staff.
• Build awareness on fire safety practices among employees and contractors.
Audit, Inspection & Compliance
• Conduct internal fire safety audits and ensure timely closure of findings.
• Maintain documentation for fire equipment testing, drills, and statutory compliance.
Reporting & Coordination
• Prepare monthly safety performance reports and incident summaries.
• Support regional and corporate teams in safety initiatives and audits.
3. Qualifications & Experience:
• Graduate Degree (Science or Engineering preferred).
• Diploma / PG Diploma in Fire & Safety Engineering (recognized by Govt. body / UGC
approved University).
• ADIS / PDIS preferred.
• 4 - 8 years of relevant experience in Fire & Safety within Retail / Warehouse / Industrial operations.
• Certified Fire Officer / Fire Supervisor / Sub-Officer preferred.
• First Aid or Disaster Management certification desirable.
4. Key Competencies:
• Strong knowledge of fire protection systems, NBC, and local fire regulations.
• Hands-on experience in audits, risk assessment, and emergency management.
• Good communication and training skills.
• Must have a valuable command of Telugu, Hindi and English.
• Proactive, safety-driven, and able to work under pressure.
• Willingness to travel frequently to multiple store locations.
