Revenue Accountant | US Accounting

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Revenue Accountant with hands-on experience in US Accounting and Revenue Accounting Operations. The ideal candidate should have expertise in Revenue Recognition, ASC 606, Contract Review, Deferred Revenue, Revenue Reconciliations, Financial Reporting, and Month-End Close, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP and internal accounting controls.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end Revenue Accounting activities for US-based clients/entities.
- Review customer contracts and determine the appropriate revenue recognition treatment under ASC 606.
- Prepare and post Revenue Journal Entries, Accruals, and Accounting Adjustments.
- Perform Deferred Revenue reconciliations and revenue account reconciliations.
- Maintain revenue schedules and supporting documentation.
- Support Month-End, Quarter-End, and Year-End Revenue Close activities.
- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, Billing, and Finance teams to resolve revenue-related issues.
- Prepare schedules supporting financial reporting and audit requirements.
- Monitor revenue transactions and identify accounting exceptions.
- Ensure compliance with US GAAP, ASC 606, company policies, and internal controls.




- Support internal and external audits related to revenue accounting.
- Identify opportunities to improve revenue accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.

Key Software

Hands-on experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

- NetSuite
- SAP
- Zuora
- Salesforce

Experience with other ERP, accounting, or revenue management platforms will also be considered.

Accounting & Compliance Knowledge

Candidates should have positive working knowledge of:

Qualifications & Skills

- Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Chartered Accountants or candidates pursuing/progressing toward CA will be preferred.
- 38 years of experience in Revenue Accounting, General Accounting, US Accounting, or Finance Operations.
- Experience supporting US accounting processes or US-based clients preferred.
- Strong understanding of ASC 606, revenue recognition principles, and financial accounting.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
