Dispatcher (US Freight Brokerage)

About the Role

KTC Logistics is a freight brokerage working with shippers and carriers across the United States and Canada. KTC Group, in partnership with Stellar Serve Business Solutions, is looking for an experienced Dispatcher who understands real U.S. freight execution and can manage loads from pickup through delivery.

This role is focused on carrier and driver communication, appointment scheduling, load tracking, problem resolution, and ensuring freight moves on time. The person will work during night shifts (India) to align with North American business hours.

Key Responsibilities

Dispatch & Load Execution

- Dispatch loads to carriers and owner-operators
- Confirm pickup and delivery appointments
- Track shipments throughout transit and maintain accurate load status updates
- Handle driver check calls, ETAs, delays, and operational issues
- Ensure on-time pickup and delivery while managing multiple active loads simultaneously

Carrier & Driver Coordination

- Communicate daily with U.S. truck drivers, owner-operators, and carrier dispatch teams
- Confirm load details, appointment times, transit expectations, and delivery requirements
- Find trucks when required and negotiate carrier rates when needed
- Maintain working relationships with reliable carriers and resolve in-transit problems quickly

Freight Types & Operations

- Coordinate freight including:
- Full Truckload (FTL), Partial Truckload / LTL, short-haul and long-haul freight
- Intermodal, drayage, port pickups, rail ramp movements, container transfers,



and empty returns
- Cross-border U.S.–Canada shipments
- Specialized freight including overweight, oversized, wide-load, heavy-haul, Hazmat, temperature-controlled, high-value, time-critical, and project cargo

Freight & Dispatch Knowledge

- Understand U.S. logistics terminology and dispatch workflows, including:
- Rate confirmations, driver check calls, load tracking, appointment scheduling, and transit times
- Truck types, equipment requirements, chassis usage, container and booking numbers
- Ports, rail ramps, detention, demurrage, layover, and basic cross-border processes
- Basic permit, escort / pilot car, route restriction, and Hazmat documentation requirements for specialized loads

Required Skills & Experience

- Minimum 2+ years of real experience in freight dispatching, freight brokerage operations, trucking company dispatch, or 3PL operations
- Hands-on experience working with U.S. or Canadian carriers, owner-operators, live shipments, and driver communication
- Solid understanding of OTR operations, drayage, intermodal, container movements, and freight execution
- Strong English communication skills (phone + email) and confidence speaking with U.S. drivers and carrier teams
- Ability to work under pressure, solve shipment problems independently, and manage multiple loads at the same time
- Organized, detail-oriented, reliable, punctual, and comfortable working night shifts in India
- Hands-on experience with specialized freight is strongly preferred

- Can independently manage shipments from pickup to delivery without constant supervision
- Understands container, intermodal, and specialized freight movements
- Can communicate confidently with drivers, carriers, and internal teams and react quickly when problems occur
