Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior Engineer (L5) to design and build scalable distributed systems that power core enterprise platforms.

This is a hands-on engineering role with strong ownership of:

- Backend system design and implementation
- Distributed system reliability and scalability
- Production readiness and operational excellence
- High-quality, secure, and maintainable code
- You will operate with autonomy within your domain while collaborating closely with peers and technical leaders.

What Youll Do

- Backend & Distributed Systems Engineering
- Design, develop, and deploy scalable backend services using Java and Kotlin.
- Build microservices-based and event-driven systems.
- Ensure systems are production-ready, deployable, scalable, and resilient
- Contribute to API design, service contracts, and data modeling
- Optimize performance, throughput, and system capacity
- Work with SQL and NoSQL databases, including non-relational systems such as MongoDB, Cassandra, DynamoDB

Reliability, Observability & Security

- Ensure strong observability and monitoring practices are in place
- Use operational data to improve system stability and performance
- Apply secure coding practices and maintain a security-first mindset
- Participate in testing strategies including unit and integration testing
- Support CI/CD practices and cloud-native deployments .

Engineering Excellence





- Take ownership of complex technical tasks and deliver high-quality solutions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and stakeholders
- Maintain deep technical knowledge and stay current with evolving technologies
- Write clean, maintainable, and well-structured code across distributed systems

Intelligent Automation & AI Exposure (Preferred)

- Leverage AI coding assistants for development and utilize them to generate better quality output.
- Support integration of AI or automation driven components into the backend systems.
- Ensure AI-enabled components operate within defined reliability and safety boundaries.
- AI exposure is valued, but distributed systems engineering remains the primary focus of this role.

Required Skills

- 4+ years of software development experience.
- 3+ years building scalable backend applications using Java/Spring boot and Kotlin.

Experience with:

- Microservices architecture and distributed systems .
- Event-driven systems and messaging platforms (Kafka).
- RDBMS (Oracle and Postgres) and NoSQL databases (Mongo, Redis, Cassandra)
- Elastic Search
- Cloud-native environments (AWS, GCP, Azure or similar).
- Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes or similar).
- CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
- Robust problem-solving skills with solid understanding of data structures and algorithms .

Preferred Skills :

- Exposure data pipelines, ML Ops, Spark, or Python .
- Experience modernizing legacy systems.
- Familiarity with AI or automation frameworks.
- Experience working with high-throughput, low-latency systems .
