About the Role

We are looking for a Sales Ledger Clerk with hands-on experience in UK Accounting and Sales Ledger operations. The ideal candidate should have experience in Customer Invoicing, Payment Allocation, Customer Account Reconciliations, Sales Ledger Maintenance, VAT Validation, and Month-End Activities, while ensuring accuracy and compliance with UK accounting standards and internal controls.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage end-to-end Sales Ledger activities for UK-based clients/entities.
- Generate and process customer invoices and credit notes accurately and within defined timelines.
- Maintain customer accounts and sales ledger records.
- Record customer receipts and allocate payments accurately.
- Perform Customer Account Reconciliations and resolve outstanding balances.
- Coordinate with customers regarding invoice, payment, and account-related queries.
- Monitor outstanding receivables and support collection activities.
- Record sales ledger Journal Entries and accounting adjustments.
- Support Month-End and Year-End Close activities.
- Assist with VAT-related invoice validation and ensure compliance with UK accounting requirements.




- Maintain complete documentation and support internal and external audit requirements.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and internal controls.
- Identify opportunities to improve sales ledger processes and operational efficiency.

Key Software

Hands-on experience with one or more of the following is preferred:

- Sage
- Xero

Experience with other accounting or ERP systems will also be considered.

Qualifications & Skills

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 38 years of experience in Sales Ledger, UK Accounting, Accounts Receivable, or Finance Operations.
- Experience supporting UK accounting processes or UK-based clients preferred.
- Strong understanding of sales ledger operations and customer accounting.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel / Google Sheets.
